Overview

SPORG provides online registration, ticketing, donation/fundraising and payment services to organizations, and registrants. Protecting the privacy of SPORG users is extremely important to us and we are committed to securing your confidence and trust.

We maintain the following privacy policy itemized into 10 principles to protect the personal information you provide on-line. It describes how we collect, protect and use information we receive from visitors and users of our web site(s) at www.sporg.com and www.sporg.ca.

1. Accountability: We are accountable and responsible for personal information under our control and have designated an individual (privacy@sporg.com) who is accountable for our compliance with these principles.

2. Identifying Purposes: SPORG.com is a service provider and collects registration, donation/fundraising and ticket information on behalf of customer organizations. Any "personal information" collected by SPORG.com is identified on registration form(s) that an individual fills out themselves. Each individual who fills out a registration form is notified at or before the time the information is collected.

For example: To purchase a product (such as a registration, membership) or make a donation on the SPORG.com site, you may be required to provide personal information such as name, address and contact information. Other information, specific to the actual registration, membership or donation may also be required (such as age or gender). You will also be asked to provide payment information such as credit card numbers.

3. Consent: Before any personal information is collected, used or disclosed, the person in question will be notified and give their consent, except when inappropriate. When you register, donate or purchase a product on our site, you have granted us permission to release the information you entered to the organization or person to whom you were registering, donating or purchasing product from. Before personal information is submitted to SPORG.com and stored, you are presented with a "consent" check box and link to this privacy policy, at which time you may accept or decline to have your information submitted.

4. Limiting Collection: The collection of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purpose of processing a registration and information shall be collected by fair and lawful means. As a service provider, SPORG.com offers customer organizations the ability to create online forms that collect and store information; and as such the actual information collected is determined by customer organizations and not SPORG.com. SPORG.com processes credit card transactions but DOES NOT store credit card information.

5. Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention: Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by the law. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for fulfillment of those purposes. We will destroy personally identifying information upon request of any individual for whom we have information stored.

For Example: your contact information is used for notification purposes (e.g., to confirm program registration) or when necessary for customer service. Your Payment information is used only to bill you for registrations, donations given, products and services that you specifically request and specifically, credit card numbers are NOT stored.

We may compile reports periodically from registration and transaction data from across all our users and share this information with our partners. This information will not include any personally identifiable information. As an example, these reports would include information to inform us of the overall usage levels of our site and by category. In no way would these reports include personal or company name or contact details

6. Accuracy: Personal information is entered by each individual that registers and shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as was entered.

7. Safeguards: Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

8. Openness: We shall make readily available to individuals specific information about our policies and practices relating to the management of personal information as evidenced by this privacy policy.

9. Individual Access: Upon request, an individual shall be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of his or her personal information and shall be given access to that information. An individual shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.

10. Challenging Compliance: An individual shall be able to address a challenge concerning compliance with the above principles to the designated individual (privacy@sporg.com) or individuals for our compliance.
