THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a service-focused individual who is technically savvy, good under pressure and able to manage the
entire merchant application process while providing exceptional customer service in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer requests and merchant account enquiries, resolve problems, co-ordinate any change requests with our Canadian or USA transactors.
- Manage the Canadian/USA merchant application process by facilitating questions on how to fill out the applications to entering information on line to monitoring the status of the applications to approval.
- Risk analysis - completing a full risk assessment on all new clients.
- Monitoring the PEM file process (profiles are delivered to SPORG automatically from our US transactor) and ensuring that the process is running well.
- Updating merchant progress reports with status comments.
- Setting up US clients with an American Express merchant account.
Qualifications
- A completed College Diploma or University Degree supplemented by a minimum of 2 years Customer Service Experience.
- Strong computer and internet skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including word, excel and access.
- Must have strong communication skills (written and spoken English).
- Solid problem and resolution skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Responsive and empathetic to customer needs and able to respond quickly and competently to customer requests.
- Positive attitude and amicable disposition.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.

Required Skills and Experience

- At least 4 years professional experience with Oracle database administration and/or programming, including PL/SQL
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities/workload
- University degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Experience with the following oracle specific technologies: Security Model, Performance Tuning, Partition, Replication, Backup and Recovery
- Experience with JBOSS, LDAP, JDBC and Oracle 8i/9i/10g

The primary focus of the Sales Representative will be generating and closing 'new' sales. The Sales Representative position is a pivotal role on the SPORG sales team.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales Representative will actively call, pre-screen, and critique all leads from supplied cold calling lists, discover their event and membership registration needs, determine if there is an appropriate fit with SPORG's Online Registration Solutions, engage all qualified leads and utilize effective sale's techniques to convince them to attend web demonstrations of SPORG, close the sale and support their ongoing account needs.
Responsibilities
The Sales Representative will provide weekly status reports on lead generating activities and maintain the integrity of customer and lead information. Additionally, the Sales Representative will display initiative in order to improve SPORG product knowledge, market segment and customer knowledge, effective cold calling techniques, and positive contributions to SPORG culture, morale, processes, and procedures.

Additionally:
As a Sales Representative, your main responsibilities are:
- Prospecting through cold calls, referrals from channel and alliance partners, events, trade shows, etc.
- Handling of incoming calls fueled by direct marketing programs
- Tracking and reporting on lead generation, follow up and 'wins and losses', through the sales cycle to the VP
- Closing business over the telephone
- Distribution of all sales support and marketing materials to potential/existing clients
- Customer relations and follow up communication to maintain the interest level of the prospects and to ensure satisfactory service
Skills required:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- 2 years proven successful experience in lead qualification, in an inside sales, telesales or lead generation role
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with prospective and existing customers, and channel and alliance partner sales teams
- Ability to motivate customers to proceed to the next step in the sales process
- Excellent communication, presentation, time management and organizational skills
- Excellent telephone skills
- Detail oriented and proactive on following up
- Strong computer skills using Excel, Word and CRM applications
